Usage & billing
Usage & billing is what Gemmein costs you, never what you earn. It counts your active people, shows the band your bill follows once you're live, and lets you hold that band where it is.
The walk
Before you go live
Open Usage & billing before your app is live to see your meters, and what you pay while you build: nothing.

After you go live
After you go live, the meters count your active people — each once a month, on their first signed-in request — and What you pay shows your band and how it moves.

Your band is priced on last month's active people, and the band changes before the bill does.
Choose Hold at my current band to keep your bill and your ceilings from going above the band you're in; if your people fall below it, both follow them down.
Choose Manage billing for your invoices, your card and cancelling, in your billing portal.
Storage capacity
Storage is the one ceiling that can fill. In Usage & billing, production, add capacity in 100 GB units ahead of that — $5 a month per unit, prorated onto your next invoice from the day you turn it on, and just as easy to turn back down. Files already saved stay; new uploads are refused once you're at twice the ceiling, until you delete files or add capacity.
What it refuses and why
Nothing here refuses a founder: holding your band is a choice you can release, capacity is a choice you can turn off, and your limits follow your people rather than stopping your app.
What your app is told when storage fills, and how the usage band bills: Errors.
